If you need certainty of software and hardware compatibility or your equipment is aging, we encourage you to buy a full service, turn-key TouchSource solution. We test our media players on our test bench prior to shipping to confirm the design and device functionality.
Technical Requirements
Your existing equipment must meet these requirements to be compatible:
- Physically provide enough space for a media player
- Have a 16:9 aspect ratio for standard programs
- FHD and 4K resolution displays (recommended)
- HMDI input port
- Power and internet access per modern standards, with minimum 5 Mbps and 10 Mbps (recommended)
- Confirm whether there is enough space in your existing kiosk or enclosure to securely mount the TouchSource media player
- Our media players need a minimum 1.5” of depth for proper ventilation
- TouchSource media players use a standard 120V/15A plug
- Hardwired internet connections via ethernet cable (5J45 connector) recommended
- Wireless internet and cellular connections can also be used
- Minimum speeds are 5 Mbps; 10 Mbps if running video
- Maximum HDMI cable run is 50ft; maximum USB cable run is 15ft
- TouchSource media players power cycle and update during pre-determined times daily, typically around midnight local time
- We recommend configuring HDMI input of display to “always-on” to prevent display from powering off while the media player power cycles
- ECO options, such as power-saving features of display, should all be turned off
- A dedicated circuit is not necessary, but it is recommended
